In first grade, we see our students' reading and math skills take off, a fact which attests to our rigorous and engaging curriculum. They also develop cursive writing fluency, a skill which many of them discover is impressive to friends and adults! They begin developing a deeper understanding of who God is and His love for them. 

Their budding faith is helped along by their participation in Chapel Families, which are groupings of students ranging from kindergarten to 8th grade who sit together during Friday chapel worship. Chapel Families encourage our older students to lead by example and give our younger students role models to look up to. It’s a regular occurrence at City Tree to see middle schoolers greeting elementary kids by name and giving fist bumps, due to their Chapel Family bond.
