FAQs

1. What are typical school hours?

Middle School: 8:15am- 3:15pm

Elementary School: 8:30am-3:15pm

Preschool (Full Time): 8:30am-3:00pm (flexible drop off and pick up times)

Infants: 7:45am - 5:15pm

Before and After School Care is Available: 6:45am-6pm (for an additional fee)

 

*Before and After School Care is not available for Infants.

2. "Is there a wait list for Infants, and if so, how do I get on the list?"

Yes, we do currently have a wait list for our infant program. In order to join the wait list, we request that parents schedule a tour.

3. Does City Tree provide the option of Hot Lunch?

Yes, please use this link to view our hot lunch option. 

4. Do City Tree students wear uniforms?

Students in preschool do not wear uniforms. Students in Kindergarten through 8th grade wear uniforms either from our uniform vendor or from another vendor with similar styles.

5. Is City Tree affiliated with a local church?

Yes, City Tree is a mission of First Presbyterian Church of San Diego. The church and school utilize the same building, and some events and activities are attended by members of both the church and school. To learn more about First Presbyterian Church of San Diego, check out fpcsd.org.

6. Does our family have to be Christian or attend church to enroll at City Tree?

Parents and students are not required to profess Christianity or attend a local church. However, it is important for parents to be comfortable with a Christian worldview and perspective being taught at City Tree.

7. Where do I park and is parking free?

To receive free parking, please bring your license plate number into the office and register your vehicle. There are three free lots available to the families of our students and those visiting the school.

Where is the School Entrance?

The entrance to City Tree is on 3rd Ave between Elm and Date.

GPS Location: 1745 3rd Avenue for school entrance gate and ramp

8. How do I stay informed about school activities and events?

City Tree produces a weekly newsletter with helpful information about everything going on at our school. Simply subscribe to the newsletter and read it weekly to be in the know.

 

In addition, parents receive regular updates and pictures from their child's teacher using the Brightwheel app.

9. How can I help support City Tree?

Those who are interested in supporting City Tree can get involved by volunteering, working with our community partners or donating funds to scholarships, to fund special music, science or technology ventures or giving to our general fund.

 

City tree has many community partners that help raise money for the school. Ralphs, Box Tops for Education, Scrip Gift Cards and United Way are all simple ways to support City Tree.
