City Tree Christian School requires
that K-8 grade students be dressed in the approved CTCS uniform during
the academic year. The way a student is dressed is the parent's responsibility.
Please take the time to make sure your child is adhering to the uniform
policy. Monitoring uniforms in the classroom needlessly wastes class
time. Uniforms may be purchased at Dennis Uniform, but many items are
also available at local department stores in the "uniform"

FREE DRESS DAY
A free dress day occurs on the last Thursday (school
day) of each month. Students are not required to wear uniforms on this
day and may wear appropriate clothing of their choice within the following
guidelines:
Shoes meet the uniform code, no sandals, high
heels or sharp-toed boots.
Skirt/short length must be long enough to allow
for activity while being appropriately modest.
T-shirts may not have anything that has violent
or sexual connotations.
Clothing in good repair without holes or stains.
No bare midriffs or halter-tops allowed.
All clothing should allow for normal movement
in an active school day.
All previously mentioned guidelines regarding
makeup, hair, hats, fingernails apply on this day as well.
SPECIAL DRESS DAYS
Sometimes, the student council or a child's teacher
will ask the student to participate in wearing special clothing for
a particular play, event or celebration. Some examples of this might
be:
Wacky Dress Day
100 day Celebration (dress like 100 year-old
folks)
Valentines Day (wear all red)
These days will be posted and information will be
distributed to all cubbies.
Preschool:
Children should be dressed in
clothing that they can manage with a minimum of help. Too many layers
of clothing or difficult fasteners make it hard for the child to be
independent in his/her toileting and may contribute to accidents. Children
should be dressed in a manner that insures comfort in play indoors and
out. Sturdy, washable, clothing is recommended. Weather often changes
during the day, so the child should always have a sweater or jacket
for walks or outside play.
LABEL EVERYTHING!
Show the child where you put his/her
name and help him/her recognize his/her garments.
Clothing with pictures or slogans
pertaining to violence, sex, drugs, or disrespect for authority is not
permitted at City Tree at any time. When in doubt about the suitability
of a certain item of clothing, please ask your child's teacher.
All preschoolers are required
to have a change of clothing in case of spills or accidents. Parents
are to bring underwear, pants, tops, shoes and socks in a plastic bag.
Tape the child's name on the bag and write the child's name on all garments.
Soiled or wet clothes are put in a plastic bag and in child's cubby
to be taken home. Please return a clean set of clothes the next day.
